The pocket-sized clipper that makes your 808s slap — on the phone speaker where most people actually hear them.

Most producers reach for a soft clipper on the master bus. The problem: a master clipper reacts to whatever's loudest — usually the kick — so it's shaping the wrong element, and clipping a full mix smears distortion across everything at once.
Sub-Beef is built for one job. Drop it on the isolated 808 and every bit of drive it generates comes from the 808 and stays tied to it — no muddying the rest of the beat.
An 808 you can't hear on a phone isn't hitting. Sub-Beef fixes that at the source.
Your 808 lives at 40–60 Hz — frequencies a phone speaker physically can't reproduce. As you drive Sub-Beef, its tuned hard-clipping stage generates the 808's own harmonics above the fundamental. Those harmonics survive small speakers, and the ear reconstructs the missing low end from them. That's why it slaps on a phone without losing weight on a system that can move real air.
Push the tuned hard-clipping curve. More drive reshapes more of the waveform — more harmonics, more slap.
A sub-reinforcement stage placed before the clipper — adds weight and feeds more energy into the harmonics that translate.
A safety limiter as the last stage. Drive as hard as you want; nothing escapes past your set level into the master.
Trim the level and blend against the dry 808 for parallel clipping — the pro move for keeping punch while adding grit.
Tested on real hardware across both platforms — including older machines, because that's what a lot of studios are actually running.
One purchase covers you across all your own machines. Use it on unlimited songs, released commercially, royalty-free. Please don't resell or redistribute the plugin itself.
